Cosmetology Refresher Program

With the successful completion of the 250-hour cosmetology refresher course, the student will receive an official transcript showing successful completion granted by Pivot Point Academy, an accredited and IL-approved Cosmetology School. Applicants who failed to pass a third examination must submit such an official transcript with the new application to take the cosmetology exam again.

With the successful completion of the 250-hour cosmetology refresher course, the student will receive an official transcript showing successful completion granted by Pivot Point Academy, an accredited and IL-approved Cosmetology School. Program Length

The intended time to complete the Cosmetology Refresher 250-hour program is around 5 months based on 18 hours per week. The following schedule is offered:

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Program Description

The course will include:

  • Basic Training
  • Practical Chemical Application/Hair Treatment
  • Hair Styling/Hair Dressing
  • Shop Management
  • Esthetics Theory
  • Nail Technology Theory
  • Mock State Board Practice exams
  • Theory review study packets

Included is a LAB Seat to have access to our digital learning management platform, also a Cosmetology Exam Prep Book.

Sexual Harassment 1 hour Course (IL)

Gain knowledge about sexual harassment prevention including an explanation of sexual harassment consistent with the IHRA, examples of conduct that constitutes unlawful sexual harassment, a summary of relevant federal and State statutory provisions concerning sexual harassment, including remedies available to victims of sexual harassment; and a summary of responsibilities of employers in the prevention, investigation, and corrective measures of sexual harassment.

Crossover to barbering from cosmetology

Already have an active Illinois cosmetology license? Pivot Point Academy accept up to 1000 hours toward the required 1500 hours in the state of IL. Graduates will walk away with the skills necessary to successful build/extend their career.

MUD Makeup Certification

This course is a MUD exclusive 84-hour beauty essentials course and level I make-up certification. We blend current trends and traditional techniques so that you not only apply quality, crisp, and clean makeup but also take the initiative to explore and experiment. With this MUD makeup program, you earn 14 CE hours for Cosmetology and 10 CE hours for Esthetics.
